Capturing High-Key and Low-Key Photos

This article provides some tips about capturing high-key and low-key photos in the natural world. This article interests me because I think it will help improve my very amateur photography skills. There are some very helpful tips provided.

High-key images are often captured when the weather is overcast and will provide brighter backgrounds. Unmoving water and clear sky can really help brighten up a background. Another way to create a bright background is to capture a subject while it is in the shade and the sky is sunny.

Low-key images are a bit different as the background is dark as opposed to bright. One way to capture a low-key image is to have a background that is in the shade, but have a bright, sunny day. This will really help bring out the colors of the subject.
